Bridge Bridges operates in both physical and data link layers of the OSI (Open System Interconnections) Model. Bridge can divide a large Network into smaller segment. A Bridge operates at the data link layer giving it access to the physical address of the all stations connected to it. When a frame enters a bridge, the bridge not only regenerate the signals but also check the address of the destination and forward the new copy only to the segment which the address is belong.
